I’m not going to finish…
That is it! I can’t work this hard to read a book, so I am done after chapter 4. The book is already in the “return to the library” pile. Many years ago I gave myself permission to quit reading a book it I was not enjoying the read. The southern drawl was taking a lot of brain power to translate into my Yankee northern English. It is a great book. It is interesting and insightful. It is well written, but I am done. My favorite quote is a thought by Janie.

Their Eyes Were Watching God, Zora Neale Hurston
This year I decided to read the books my high school girls were reading in their lit classes. I read Huck Finn with the 10th grader, but I am going to pass on Their Eyes Were Watching God.
