June Ramblings

It’s time to get organized for summer! Nope, it is not too late!

First, I did finish my course about The Young Jane Austen. I passed all the quizzes! The certificate will take a few weeks to arrive. In the mean time I finished the knitting of Hetty’s Sunday Cuffs. You can find the pattern in Jane Austen Knits, Page 73.

I also mastered, almost, the picot hem. Here is a picture of try number 3, just before the hem process begins.

As for my entry into the Minnesota State Fair…

I have a trunk!! Time to get my focus on. It’s time to reread my post encouraging the rest of the world to get their entries started! I did make a little progress since the last time I posted. Really, I did…

Lastly, store updates.

If you are up for a road trip and want a fantastic deal on yarn, Addi Turbo needles, and more check out the clearance sale at What in Yarnation. They were a brick and mortar store that closed last year. Their storage unit is still full of great yarn and accessories. Cannon Falls is just south of St. Paul, it is a lovely drive and the deals are amazing! The sales are spontaneous and details can be found at their Facebook page What in Yarnation.

Side Note…While in Cannon Falls, if you are a wine lover, make time to check out the Cannon River Winery. It has a great “winery feel” and some great wines to sample.

If you are feeling more adventuresome Cannon Falls Canoe and Bike Rental can be a starting point for canoeing down the Cannon River or biking on the Cannon Valley Trail.

3 Kittens Needle Arts in Mendota Heights is having their Semi-Annual Clearance Sale, Select Merchandise is 25-75% off. Here is a link to the details.

The Yarnery  in St. Paul is looking to “expand our efforts, and your design may be just what we’re lookin for!” Email info@yarnery.com to get more information on opportunities to get your knitwear designs out into the world.
