Knitting in a Snow Globe

The first official snow day has happened! After a slow start to a snowy winter, it has arrived…and is still arriving. Apparently, nine inches or more will be falling in my neighborhood.

So, to catch up on the Haiku contest. I did not hear from anyone official at HiKoo, so I checked out the HiKoo┬ásite. The winning entry is posted. It is a multi lingual haiku so I don’t understand what it means, but it sounds sassy. Congrats to the winner in New York.

Here is mine, it is not quite as sassy, but I still like it.

State Fair Project Update

I have decided on a project for the state fair. The category is totally new for me and I am excited to see how it goes. I have decided on a pattern from Little Cotton Rabbits. This blog and pattern site is by Julie Williams. Her bi-line is “knitting and living with an autistic son”. She has a page that explains a bit about autism as well as some resources in the UK.

Julie has adorable patterns for animal dolls and also clothes for them. I have decided on the elephant.

I am working on a “test elephant” before I create the one I will be entering in the fair. So far I have the head and trunk, ears, a body, and the shoes started.

You know you knit too much when…You find yourself pondering the decision about what knitting to take to the grocery store with you, because you might have to wait in the checkout.
